Highest award for Bishop’s Meadow Trust

The Bishop’s Meadow Trust is so excited to have received the top award of the 2016 South and South East in Bloom competition – The Chairman’s Award. This is fantastic recognition of all the hard work which has been done by the members and volunteers who support the Trust.

The Chairman of South and South East in Bloom, Peter Holman, explained the judges decision by saying:

the hay and flower meadowland are a haven for wildlife and an essential part of the local agricultural heritage. They are classified as a Site of Nature Conservation Importance and home to a wide range of wildlife including egrets, kingfishers, bats, grass snakes, voles and the occasional deer.
The Trust manages the land for the benefit of local people as a pleasant place to play, picnic, stroll, walk the dogs or just sit.”

At a ceremony held at Squires Garden Centre in Farnham, Board Members and volunteers were presented with a certificate of achievement and a lovely glass plaque.
