Over the last few weeks the meadows have been doing a sterling job of containing millions of gallons of floodwater from entering the town, saving it from a huge clean up bill.
The Herald featured an article of images capturing the recent flooding. Photos by Nick Green and Jez Pilgrim showed the meadows completely submerged under water.
The aftermath of two recent storms; storm Ciara and storm Dennis - and with groundwater levels being above normal for this time of year - the meadows once again flooded due to the quality of rainfall in the recent weeks.
On Thursday 26th December the Bishop’s Meadows made front page news of the Farnham Herald as the meadows clearly demonstrated how instrumental they were in protecting Farnham town centre from floods.
