The Bishop’s Meadow Trust is so excited to have received the top award of the 2016 South and South East in Bloom competition – The Chairman’s Award.

The 2016 Annual General Meeting of the Bishop’s Meadow Trust will be on Sunday 9th October at the Pentecostal Church, Red Lion Lane, GU9 7QN.

The ground was prepared and the seed sown and now the Meadow’s dedicated wild flower area for bees is beginning to bloom.

At a recent meeting of the Bishop’s Meadow Trust, Jim Munro was elected as the new Chair of the organisation, replacing Vic Green who has done a brilliant job over the past years. Ed Partridge was elected as Vice Chair.

This year, sowing has been delayed by weather and technical problems, but we are going to do our best to have our bee meadow ready for the Britain in Bloom and the South East in Bloom judges to see.

The Floodplain Meadows Partnership has recently launched a new handbook on floodplain meadows called “Beauty and Utility”.

Farnham’s annual charity bike ride will take place this year on Sunday 3rd July, so there is plenty of time to get out that bike and start training!

With agreement from the Bishop’s Meadow Trust, the Environment Agency has started work on creating a fish passage in the River Wey close to the Farnham Gauging Station.

Ed Partridge, one of the Bishop’s Meadow Trust Directors, found a barn owl lying on the Bishop’s Meadow recently.

Thanks to an amazing group of volunteers, two wildlife protection areas are well under way on the Meadow.
